People flocked to the ice cream chain on its opening day in the summer of 2017, with Twitter user Adrian Bolte noting on DQ’s first Saturday night: “I think there are more people at the new Dairy Queen in Concord than there are people at the Steeplegate Mall.”Īnd old-timers who remembered when Dairy Queen’s first appeared on Loudon Road rejoiced at the chance to get chocolate-dipped soft served ice cream once again. It’s a startling turn for one of the most-hyped restaurant developments in Concord a few years ago. A Google search reveals the property is for sale as part of a package that includes 192 to 196 Loudon Road, where Entertainment Cinema and a branch location of Movie Gallery once lived. The Loudon Road location is listed as “temporarily closed” on the company’s website, though a sign on the business’s front entrance says it will be reopening soon. Those looking for a Blizzard this Memorial Day weekend are out of luck, as the Concord Dairy Queen is closed to customers.
